Was Teachers Day Happy?

Was Teachers Day Happy?

#simishblogs

LAST NIGHT, I BROKE DOWN!

Listening to everyone share their past and present school experiences, including the little things that unknowingly (kind of) hurt, left me feeling a little lost! We’re not working on Teachers’ Day, it’s our day. We used to party on the 4th and get a holiday on the 5th. We’re going to a fancy restaurant this year. The parents are organizing something amazing for us, and we’ll get the best hampers!

Coming back to my thoughts...

Just yesterday, we had a fun ‘Chaat’ party, played games, and truly enjoyed ourselves. It was a day full of laughter and fun!

But when I got home, the thoughts kept playing in my mind!

No wonder we should choose whom to listen to and whom to spend our time with, WISELY!

I closed my room, cried my heart out and suddenly, all the joy from school began to fade. I began comparing and complaining! Meditated a little, but couldn't concentrate! :(

Still, though, I entered school this morning with a heavy heart with thoughts running in my mind, only to see the students standing at the entrance, holding posters with sweet messages, giving unlimited hugs, love, chocolates, and the cutest cards.

One grade 3 student said, ‘Ms I’m so sorry, I couldn’t make a card for you. I had lots of homework.’ Haha! As innocent as they can get. I smiled, hugged and said, It’s ok my love, you remembering me is what matters the most!

I went to the washroom and cried again, lol! But this time, it was a cry of guilt.

Guilty that I complained.

Guilty that I compared.

Guilty that I let myself believe we weren’t getting enough!

And as I sit here in my Dance & Drama room, writing this, I realize how often we forget to appreciate what we already have.

We often get caught up in what others have, forgetting to appreciate the blessings right in front of us.

What if those who are living their ‘best lives’ today,

– are struggling every other day in their workplace?

– barely having a moment for themselves between meetings, school work, and other tasks.

– are quietly dealing with their mental health due to work pressure.

We do not know their reel v/s real life!! But if you get to do the things mentioned above, BRAVO! You’re already winning in LIFE!!

So, here’s a message from one teacher to another:

We’ll know our value, our worth, our hard work and our dedication when we see a child whom we’ve taught, ‘grow, glow, and remember you and miss you and being in your class as they move to higher grades!

The parties, the gifts, the food—they’ll fade. But the love for you in a child’s heart will remain.

And that love is what will bring peace and joy at the end of the day. The kind of peace that’ll let you sleep majja ma, knowing you’ve made a difference!

Maybe not everything needs to be shown,

Maybe not everything needs to be glorified,

Maybe sometimes it's just the emotions, warmth, and joy that you can't see but can only feel—very much like how you can't see GOD but can only experience Him.

SO...

Let’s keep shining AND Let’s keep inspiring!

In the end, what truly matters is finding happiness within yourself, without relying on anything outside of you! <3

& maybe something like this wouldn’t matter to you.. but maybe at some point might have happened to you?
