Living The Dream
#simishblogs
Started with Rs. 60 per class and today, within 1.5 years, I managed to pay 260 US Dollars from my savings for my Zumba certification course.
-1.5 years ago from today when I started conducting Bollywood and Zumba classes I had to face a lot of challenges. Yes! I failed thrice! ( I would love to make a vlog on this someday. From people tearing my dance class posters to getting rejected from dance classes to become an instructor)
-The only thing that kept me going was MY HARD WORK. I remember telling one of my friends, "Today I earn Rs 60/- per class but someday I wish to and I will pay for my Zumba instructor training. I want to make my parents proud."
-Why do you want to start earning? You're just 18. Do you not ask your parents for money? You belong to a well-to-do family, isn't it? Why don't you focus on your studies for now? Puri zindagi padi hai paise kamaane ke liye" is what everyone told me except my parents. My parent's hands down supported me in every decision I made. No wonder, it's because of them I've reached here today.
-Nepotism, being dependent on your father's earnings, and hard work are 3 different things. What do you choose to do/be?
-Why can't I start earning already? Why can't I use my talent to inspire the youth? Why can I not make my parents proud at the age of 18 rather than waiting for my studies to get completed and then hunt for jobs?
-"Go ahead, do not feel disheartened", told my parents. "We're here to support you always. The only advice we would want to give you is to keep your life simple, be humble, be grounded, and never forget to pray and thank the Lord for all that he has done for you."
-A few wouldn't even like you or like to see you succeed. Would you want to waste your time on them and discourage yourself? Be true to yourself, I'd say. Dream big. Dreams do come true.
-Oh btw? Did I tell you I was told to be on my bed for a month because I stressed my body by conducting Zumba classes 5 days a week by continuously traveling from Wadala to Hajiali to Nepean Sea road for the same? (I am suffering from back pain even now. But I'm sure as time passes by it'll heal)
-Also, I'm never going to be too proud of my work. I'm going to remain as humble as I am right now, be grounded, and keep dreaming big because THE SKY IS THE LIMIT. I was and I am fortunate enough to have a loving and supportive family.
-And now there's no looking BACK.
READY. SET. GO
